Download and Install
Download
Eclipse SDK 3.1.1 from
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php. Unzip it into a new directory (c:\eclipse).
Check for Java JDK 5.0
Since Java was installed before Eclipse it should be automatically configured within Eclipse when it is started for the first time. This step will help you verify that you have JDK 5.0 installed and are ready to build Foundation applications.
Run c:\eclipse\eclipse.exe, or where ever you have installed Eclipse
Open menu
Windows -> Preferences …
In the left window navigate to
Java -> Installed JREs
Make sure there is a jdk.1.5.0_05 entry, if not add one using the
Add.. button.
Click
OK to close the Preferences window.
Set Compiler Compliance Level to 5.0
Open menu
Windows -> Preferences …
In the left window navigate to
Java -> Compiler
Set the compiler compliance level to
5.0.
Click
OK to close the Preferences window.
Installing Foundation Plugin
Feature Update
Select the menu
Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install ….
Select the
Search for new features to install radio button and click the
Next button.
Update sites to visit
Click on the
New Remote Site button.
New Update Site
Name: Foundation 2.1
Location: http://download.foundationdms.com/plugins/2.1/eclipse/site.xml
Click the
OK button.
Make sure only the Foundation 2.1 box is checked.
Click on the
Finish button.
Search Results
Check the
Foundation check box and press
Next
Feature License
Read the licence agreement, select the
I accept the terms in the license agreement and press
Next.
Installation
Press
Finish to dowload the Foundation plugin.
Downloading
Verification
Press
Install All to install the Foundation plugin.
Restart Eclipse
Press
Yes to restart Eclipse.
Verify
To verify that the Foundation Project plugin is installed go to
File -> New -> Project
There should be a
Foundation folder with the
Foundation Project wizard below it.
