       <![CDATA[As of January 1, 2008, GST and HST has changed.  Users who have configured the <a title="Financials" href="../../../../fbs/financials/financials-home-page">Financials Module</a> need to update their GST tax authority to 5.0% and HST tax authority to 13.0%.  See <a href="updating-gst/">Updating GST</a>
on the support site for details on how to do this.  For more

<h2>Modifying a Tax Authority</h2>
<p>Open the Tax Authority window by going to the Accounting menu and selecting Tax Admin -&gt; Tax Authority.</p>
<p>Search for the GST Tax Authority</p>

<p><br />Change the Tax Rate field with the decimal percentage for the new tax rate, 5.0 as of January 1, 2008, and Press Update.<br /></p>
<p>Any changes to the tax rate will come into effect immediately.  All invoices and payables created in the past will continue to use the old tax rate.</p>
<p>Follow the same method to change the HST to 13.0%.<br /><br /></p>

     version of Java</h3><p>Run javaws  and go to About -&gt; Help.  The version should be at least Java 1.5.0_05.  If it is not install the correct java version from <a title="User Setup for Accessing Business Suite" class="generated" href="user-setup-for-accessing-business-suite">User Setup for Accessing Business Suite</a>.<br /></p>

     on the Java Console </h3><p>Run javaws and go to Edit
      -&gt; Preferences and select the Advanced tab.  Expand the Java Control tree and select
      the Show Control radio button.</p><p>This will now start the Java Console when the Application is run. <br /></p>

<h2>Accessing the Server</h2>
<br />
<p>First ensure that you can connect to the server where Business Suite is installed.</p>
<ol start="1"><li>Open a web browser</li><li>Go to the Business Suite URL http://&lt;servername&gt;/&lt;application name&gt;/</li></ol>
<br />
<p>This will display the Business Suite home page which usually includes a link to the application and user documentation.</p>
<br />
<h2>Installing Java 1.5</h2>
<br />
<h3>Verify Version</h3>
<p>Check to see if you have Java 1.5 (update 5 or greater) installed on the workstation.</p>
<p>On Windows go to Start -&gt; Run and enter javaws.</p>
<p>On Linux open a Terminal screen and enter javaws.</p>

<h3>Installing Java 1.5</h3>

<p>To install Java Run Time Engine (JRE) 1.5 go to http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp and follow the installation instructions.</p>
<br />
<p>When you are done, repeat the Verify Version section to make sure it is installed correctly.</p>
<br />
<h2>Running Business Suite</h2>
<br />
<p>Now return to the Business Suite home page with a web browser and click on the link to the application.  This will download the application and start it up.  Login with the username and password provided by your administrator.</p>
